There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored.
There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.”

Santa, the Easter Bunny, magic, and the Tooth Fairy?
Well, the four furry friends can help your child learn to read and write.
For the young, young at heart,
and those who love the young.
Children in the magical years can learn to read
and write with a little help from the Three Atlanta Cats
and their little sister, Mimi Mimosa
(and with just a little help from their Human)

We are all Paw Pals: three felines and one fluffy dog, a little Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix. We are writers from the Heart of Dixie. We write personalized letters, emails, and texts full of fun and nose rubs for the young and the young at heart. We help children learn to read and write with the help of our old professor human. We are great paw pals (pen pals in human terms). Contact us today! Miss Maggie
A History Lesson by Miss Maggie May
We are three cats are royal creatures: we Maine Coon felines. We are not mere house cats…noooo, not The Three Atlanta Cats. We descended from royalty—Queen Marie Antoinette, "Let them eat cake," the Queen of France. (Yes, THAT one, the beheaded one, but that is a story for another day.) She knew she was in deep kitty-litter, so she was desperately trying to out-run the henchman, but she was greedy. Instead of just grabbing her kitties and heading for the hills, she was sneaking her favorite things off a little at a time for the Americas. Among those favorite things were—you guessed it—our ancestors. She enlisted the help of Captain Samuel Clough and they loaded six of her prized Turkish Angora cats onto one of his ships for Wiscasset, Maine—thus the name Maine Coon. Upon arrival in Wiscasset, these beautiful and very much unescorted Turkish Angoras began cavorting with the local short-haired breeds and thus the bred evolved into the gorgeous Maine Coons you are beholding today.
Now, that is one version… Another version is that the beautiful Turkish Angoras fell in love with the native and very wild raccoons roaming Maine. This would definitely explain the ring markings on so many of the Maine Coon cats’ tails and the huge size. Whichever story you believe (maybe both are true), we descended from royalty and expect to be treated as such… and we are. MMM

The Three Atlanta Cats & Mimi Mimosa

We are three gorgeous and talented cats and one very fluffy dog.
We write children from all around the world.
These children are our Paw Pals.
(Humans have pen pals, we four have paw pals.)
We write personalized letters, texts, and emails to children between
the magical years when children believe in magic and fairy dust (belief in Santa to the onset of puberty), and we answer all correspondence.
We would love to hear from you. When you write us, tell us which Paw Pal you want to write to you, and that fluffy friend will write right back. Children must ask Mom or Dad if they can write to us. Kisses and Hugs and wet nose rubs.

Three Atlanta Cats and Paw Pals were created by Dr. Lyn Walden more than 20 years ago as a way to help her grandchildren learn to read and write. When they were little, the human girls truly believed that Maggie, Molly, and Mistletoe could write cards and letters. Soon, a few friends heard about Paw Pals (like pen pals) and asked the Three Atlanta Cats to write to their children or to their elementary school classes. Time flew by and far too quickly, the granddaughters were too old to believe cats could write. Of course, all things must come to an end. The cats went back to just one job: keeping their human company. Now, here we are once again and the Three Atlanta Cats have been called back into service, and so it is. They will continue writing emails, texts, cards, and letters. So, if you have a child in the magical years when children believe in magic and fairy dust (belief in Santa to the onset of puberty), just let the furry girls know. They truly have magical powers and have helped many children over the years. They are ready once again to help children learn the magic of the pen.

All About Us
|
Maggie and Mistletoe are answering letters now.
We are three exquisitely beautiful Main Coon cats. We are not sisters, but we do share royal ancestors. We resent it when called mere cats. We are pedigreed, registered, Main Coon cats. We have nobility flowing through our blue-blood veins. We allow one human to share our downtown Atlanta condominium with us. In exchange for luxuriating in our fluffy magnificence, our human pays all our bills, feeds us, grooms us daily, keeps fresh catnip and toys available at all times, and does all the necessary cleaning. Quite the bargain for the old soul, isn’t it?
Our Historian, Miss Maggie May
Miss Maggie May is our elder, and she is the best teacher. She is by far the wisest one of us. Maybe because she is from the land of Daniel Boone, or maybe because she spends so much time with her human, MMM knows all about the history of the United States and much of the world. She also knows all about Marie Antoinette and the Palace at Versailles where it is said, her ancestor-cats were from. She loves famous women in history from Catherine the Great to Queen Elizabeth II. She also loves to meow about Queen Nefertiti, Cleopatra, and her all-time favorite, the Pharaoh Queen Hatshetsut. She quotes Mother Teresa, Eleanor Roosevelt, Dorothy Parker, and Maya Angelou.
Yes, she has quite a range. So, if you need help with your school work, Maggie is the one. by Toetis

Mistletoe was born October 5 in Alabama. She was her owner's Christmas present that year hence the name. However, she prefers to be called Toe, Toe Toe, or Toetis. Of the three cats, she is the most loving and gives kisses off and on all day. She also has the loudest purr, which she uses often. She is also the sneakiest and must be carefully watched or she will slip outside.
Are you loving and sweet? Maybe Toe is the writer for you. She would love to hear from you. “Miss Maggie May woke up bored this morning and when MMM gets bored—watch out. You know she is deaf, but she can hear loud noises, which means when she gets bored, she makes her own loud noises. This morning, she walked around our human’s favorite study corner and knocked off every book, cup, cell phone, camera, Kindle—everything! She even tried to knock our human’s laptop off, but it was too heavy. Our human finally carried MMM into the kitchen and gave her a big bowl of catnip, which MMM immediately ate. Need I say, she is not very lady like now? She staggered around for a while, meowing a raunchy song, and now she is asleep in the sun. Her tongue is out and she is snoring and drooling but never tell her I told you. She is bigger than me.” by Molly

When Your Human Gets Out of Hand
When your human gets out of hand and forgets to freshen your water or change your litter you must reprimand her immediately. Immediate punishment is the only method that will have a lasting effect. If you wait too long to admonish your human, the poor soul might not know why you are punishing her. The best way to discipline a lazy or forgetful human is by refusing to allow her to touch your silken fur or snuggle with you when she watches that big square box she calls a TV. Remember: You must be tough and insist your human abides by your rules. Remember: You are the boss. By Maggie May Of the three cats, Molly is the "high maintenance" one. This means that Molly is a lot of work. Her fur must be groomed almost every day. She gets in odd places and requires rescuing. Often! She makes messes, which means extra work for our human.
Does this sound like you? If so, Molly is the writer for you? She writes beautiful letters and poems. She is gentle and tender. We call Molly the Princess. |
