Dr. Lyn has a very unique way of teaching kids how to read and write. First, she spends about an hour with each one asking them what they like and what they don't like. Then she finds interesting books, magazines, and articles on their favorite subjects. Then, she asks them to write about their favorite subjects, but she does not look at grammar or punctuation when they write. She takes all the fear out of writing. She even encourages them to use the dictation app on Word. She told me they needed a safe place to write, and by George, that's what she gives them.
